Data Management Core
The Data Management and Statistics Core (DMSC) was established in September 2004 through a competitive supplemental grant from NIA and was re-funded for another five-year with the successful competing renewal of the IADC in 2006. The core will maintain an integrated data management system for the daily functioning of all IADC cores and successful collaboration in other research initiatives; The DMSC will provide continued statistical support to IADC and associated researchers with a close relationship between data managers, statisticians and IADC researchers for data access and statistical analyses. The DMSC will ensure cooperation, concurrence and collaboration from the initial specification of data content to database management and analysis, and it will enhance the IADC's capacities in the fight against AD related dementia.
The specific aims for the Data Management and Statistics Core are:
- Specific Aim 1: To develop and maintain an integrated database for data collected in the Clinical and Neuropathology Cores of the IADC.
- Specific Aim 2: To provide statistical leadership and support to IADC and associated investigators on dementia and Alzheimer related projects.
- Specific Aim 3: To develop and maintain a web-based data query system on the IADC web site.
- Specific Aim 4: Assist the Education Core by developing databases for program evaluation, subject recruitment tracking.
